Thanks everyone for your suggestions. The schedule will be posted soon. Sorry if we can't get to all of them this time around.

Adrianne, I look forward to hearing from you what Wiseman had to say (or reading your paper).

I was actually fortunate enough to talk with Wiseman about the making of 'Titicut Follies' during my research for my paper, 'Truth or Decency' that revolved around the production and banning of the film. It was remarkable to talk with him about his debut picture, and especially to hear his views of the film's failures and successes. Do you often screen documentaries?

Bluish Barn,
Thanks for calling me a dork! I hear that you got KILLED at scrabble by a DORK recently, even though the board was upside-down the whole time and she LET you use SUV which is *clearly* not in the scrabble dictionary. http://www.hasbro.com/scrabble/pl/page.tools/dn/home.cfm

Is this like choosing a song on a jukebox at a bar that's crowded and not to your liking?

'cause if it is then I choose a Bollywood film. !!!

Three exclamation marks not for strength, but length.

I'll name a few I'd like to see:

Devdas - though I hear it's depressing
Koi ... Mil Gaya - which I've read is god awful good
The Rising - a 2005 film about Indians overthrowing the British East India Company's imperialist grip

I doubt a bollywood film would truly be appreciated, so how about The Peanut Butter Solution?

Dude, you're fucking with the system. Thursdays.

Okay, maybe we'll do a special screening for an old Ann Arbor microcinema torchbearer. Suggestions for your special screening, sir?

hey bluish,
I know this may be a lot to ask, but is there any way you can do a screening early next week? Or, if you'd rather, on Tuesday, the 19th of September?

If you say "no!" I may never know the pleasure of outdoor screenings.

Adrianne, I will bring your comment to Eric's attention.

The Wiseman we'll be showing is Titticut Follies, probably the best known film from such a little known filmmaker. It won't be the most uplifting or rowdy screening, but some things just must be shown.

We were all set earlier this summer to do a whole evening of Brackhage on actual film. Then Mikey got lazy and/or busy or whatever and/or certain of his key Brakhage-film-owning friends went out of town and it never happened. Maybe in the future.

Girl Next Door, you are officially more of a dork than me for commenting on this blog after calling me a dork for having it.

I will add Flight of the Navigator to the list of possible nostalgia films to screen, since part of me secretly hopes to get abducted and wake up years later every time I walk down into a ravine.
